Each of workshops are part instruction and part cooking class. Students will participate in activities to help them make the changes they need and go home with tools that can help implement those changes. They will also be able to cook and eat all items made during the class. Some classes will have special guest speakers to help provide further instruction.

May is Mental Health Awareness Month So Let’s Learn About Stress!
Stress – It Has The Power To Change Everything! Did you know that our brain does not distinguish between yesterday, today or tomorrow?  As a result, our nerve system undergoes some very dramatic stress. Thursday night, Dr. Michael and Dr. Laura, from the Better Health and Wellness Center inSimi Valley, will tell you why that’s dangerous and share with you how you reduce that stress before it becomes “The Silent Killer” – Stress’s other name! Theresa Walker C.Ht., will take us through a stress relieving group journey to top off the evening. Theresa will use some simple relaxation techniques along with a little imagery to bring the night to a close and have everyone leaving nice and de-stressed.

About The Cooking Class
This class offer a unique opportunity to acquire knowledge about the link between stress and diet, experience the benefits of nutrition, and learn the practical cooking skills needed to help you on your journey to better health. In this class, attendees do all of this while cooking and tasting delicious, healthful dishes.
